    Einar Jónsson Sculpture Museum


    AlmaDís Kristinsdóttir is the director of the Einar Jónsson Sculpture Museum (Listasafn Einars Jónssonar or LEJ). The museum is Iceland’s first art museum open to the public on its own premises. The Einar Jónsson Sculpture Museum has a mystical aura as the former home and studio of a pioneer in Icelandic visual art. It is located in a historical building surrounded by a sculpture garden in central Reykjavík. The collection comprises over 350 works of art by Einar Jónsson (1874 –1954) and 250 objects related to his life.

    AlmaDís holds a PhD in museum studies, M.Ed. in education and B.F.A. in design. Her research focus is practice based, using critical and reflective inquiry to uncover hidden layers in the organizational structures of museums for example or to review long term museum education practices. AlmaDís has been a part-time lecturer in the museum studies programme at University of Iceland for many years and has also taught at the Iceland University of the Arts. She has worked in museums for over 25 years among them the Denver Art Museum in Colorado, USA; the Reykjavík Art Museum; the Reykjavík City Museum and the Akureyri Art Museum. AlmaDís has also directed the Norwegian house – a regional museum of Snaefellsnes.

    Curator of Architecture and Design, Art historian

    Ana Porok graduated in Art History at the Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana, in 2001. She worked as the Curator of the Plečnik Collection at the Architecture Museum of Ljubljana from 2002 to 2011. Since then, she has been a Curator for Architecture and Design at the Museum and Galleries of Ljubljana. Her work involves editing, documenting, and collecting sources on the life and work of the most important Slovene architect Jože Plečnik. As a work group member, she contributed to the inscription of Plečnik's works in Ljubljana to UNESCO’s World Heritage List in 2021. Throughout the last decade, she has been involved in every major exhibition focusing on Plečnik. Currently she is collaborating on various projects focused on presenting and popularising Slovenian architectural heritage, while her research is centred on selected architectural projects by Plečnik.

  • Anna Marie Fisker

    Anna Marie Fisker, Architect maa, PhD, currently holds the position as Head of Research and Collection at the Art Museums of Skagen.

    Her research focuses on issues of architectural theory and history, design, food and aesthetics with a protracted curriculum in teaching in these subjects. During the last 15 years her research has been connected to cultural heritage, especially dealing with innovation and creativity.

    In her position at the Art Museums of Skagen she works with the museum’s research strategy and as supervisor for the staff of researchers.

    Anna Marie Fisker has been curator at several Art and Architectural Biennale projects in Venice. She has a large curriculum of external financed research projects related to design, architecture, food and cultural heritage and she has been lead-partner in several EU partnerships working within these fields.

    Anna Marie Fisker is the author of more than 100 scientific articles.

    Responsible for audience development implementation at AMAT (Associazione Marchigiana Attività Teatrali), the Marche Region’s Interdisciplinary Circuit of Theatre, Dance, Music, and Contemporary Circus.

    After bachelor graduation in Art and Culture Modern Languages from the “Carlo Bo” University of Urbino in 2007, Daniela started working for AMAT where she is primarily involved in the field of audience development widening and diversifying audiences but also deepening relationship with them. She participates in international projects and has professional experience in community project coordination.

    Vice-Director of AMAT (Associazione Marchigiana Attività Teatrali), the Marche Region’s Interdisciplinary Circuit of Theater, Dance, Music, and Contemporary Circus. He has been working for the Association since 2005 after bachelor graduation in Art and Culture Modern Languages from the “Carlo Bo” University of Urbino. At AMAT he is primarily involved in general management, programming, with particular regard to dance, contemporary theatre and international activities. He is leader of EU-funded SPARSE PLUS project connecting 14 international partners; concept creator and manager of interdisciplinary projects within Creative Europe and Erasmus+ projects.

    Elena Montanari is Assistant Professor in Interior Architecture and Exhibition Design in the Department of Architecture and Urban Studies at Politecnico di Milano. Since 2011, she participates in international projects revolving around the evolution of cultural and spatial practices related to the enhancement of museums and heritage sites within the contemporary scenario.

    Her research focus includes the thematic and methodologic intersections among interior architecture and museographic culture, the transformation of historic buildings and places of memory (and especially of “difficult built heritage”), and the ongoing changes in museums’ design to enhance their role for present day societies.

    Collections and Archives Manager of Millesgården since 2010. Prior to that projects with the film- and photocollection as well as deputy long-term loan registrar in the Moderna Museet in Stockholm. Deputy for the public arts curator in Norrköpings konstmuseum 2004-2006.

    Education: Magister's degree in Culture and Art History at Linköping University with focus on 20th Century Art.

    Gennaro Postiglione is Professor of Interior Architecture at the Politecnico di Milano, DAStU Department.

    His research moves at the intersection between people, places, and practices.

    The same theoretical background also nourishes his research by design activity focused on the adaptive reuse of built heritage, including the minor and neglected ones, with a very clear interest in Architecture and its way of knowing, that is, to respond to humans, non-humans and environmental needs while reflecting on the Discipline's own principles (ORCID ID: 0000-0003-4886-4548).

    Architect and PhD in Industrial Design and Multimedia Communication, she is Associate Professor at the Design Department of Politecnico di Milano.

    She writes articles, publishes books and participates in researches and conferences focused on interior spaces, with a particular attention to the communicative component of the architectural project and the brand identity. She is Co-director of the Master in Interior Design, coordinated by Politecnico di Milano and Scuola Politecnica di Design.

  • Lisette Vind Ebbesen

    Lisette Vind Ebbesen has been the Director of the Art Museums of Skagen since 2008. She is educated as an art historian and has worked on many different projects during her time at the museum. This includes several large and small exhibition projects, as well as leading a major renovation and expansion project at Skagens Museum. Additionally, she oversaw the merger between Skagens Museum and the two artist homes, Anchers Hus and Drachmanns Hus, in 2014.

    Lisette also holds several board positions and has served on the boards of the Danish Arts Foundation, the New Carlsberg Foundation, and the Glyptotek.

    Currently, Lisette is working with the rest of the team in Skagen to achieve a number of strategic goals outlined in the museum's strategy, More Communities. This initiative focuses on transforming the museum's buildings and gardens into inspiring platforms for encounters between art and people.

    Architect and PhD in Interior Architecture and Exhibition Design, she is currently Assistant Professor in the Department of Architecture and Urban Studies at Politecnico di Milano.

    She has collaborated with Gregotti Associati International (1996-1998) and Cerri&Associati (1998-2007). In 2015, she founded MAY Cultural Association which makes participatory set-ups in public spaces.

    Her activity mainly focuses on exhibition design and the design of temporary architecture. Joining teaching and professional experience, she designs and implements participatory actions in public spaces and several temporary exhibitions for universities and public institutions.

    Lotte Vittrup Krukiewicz (HDO) holds the position as Project Leader at Art Museums of Skagen, Denmark, and has a background in finance, management, and audience development.

    For the past 20 years, she has led or participated in national and international projects in various sectors - the last 12 years focusing on the cultural sector.

    In her position at the Art Museum of Skagen, she primarily leads EU and exhibition projects but also works with organizational development, change management and optimizing of working processes.

    Since 2010, Maja Kovač, public relations expert and project manager, is working in Museum and Galleries of Ljubljana (MGML). For the past 9 years, she is focusing on programme and project management as well as public relations for Plečnik House. In the last years she has been involved in preparing, managing and executing numerous (domestic and international) exhibitions and other MGML projects, she also collaborated in a few EU projects prepared by MGML. By defining various focus groups, contents suited for them and channels of communication, she also collaborated in the preparation and execution of innovative and inclusive communication strategies and actions.

    Actually she’s on working on the comic adaptation of Elena Ferrante’s tetralogy, “My brilliant friend”, published by Coconino Press.

  • Mark Pimlott

    Mark Pimlott (Montréal, Canada, 1958) is an artist, designer, writer, and teacher, and currently Assistant Professor of architectural design at TU Delft, in the Chair of Interiors Buildings Cities since 2002, when he was appointed visiting professor. His practice incorporates photography, video, sculpture, and painting, permanent art installations for public places, and architectural design, particularly for interiors. Notable projects are ‘World’ at BBC Broadcasting House, London (2013); ‘La scala’, Aberystwyth (2003); and interiors of the Red House, London (2001 and 2011), in collaboration with Tony Fretton architects. His work has been exhibited internationally, including the twelfth Biennale internazionale di architettura di Venezia (2010). He is the author of 'Without and Within: Essays on Territory and the Interior'​ (2007); ‘In Passing’ (2010), and 'The Public Interior as Idea and Project' (2016). ‘A walk from here to an other’ will be published in 2024, and ‘Means to a beginning’ in 2025. He lives and works in The Hague, Netherlands.

    Sabina Jallow works as Landscape Architect and with Communication of the Built Environment.

    At the moment Sabina is PhD fellow in the Research School of Migration, Urbanisation and Societal Change (MUSA) at the Department of Urban Studies, Malmö University, Sweden. She was educated at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), Department of Landscape Architecture, Planning & Management and at the University of Venice (IUAV), department of Art and Design.

    Sabina has been working as lecturer and research assistant at SLU since 2006. She has a special interest in art based research and collaborative design practices. She has also been involved in exhibition pedagogy, art projects and city development projects.

  • Thérèse Dyhlén

    Thérèse Dyhlén is an expert in fundraising and business development. The last three years she has been working at Millesgården Museum, where she is Deputy Director and Head of Development. Her focus is the strategic development and funding of the museum.

    She has a master of science in international business administration and has been working for art institutions and as an independent consultant within the cultural sector for the last 17 years. Therese has been project leader for several major funding and development projects.

  • Þóra Sigurbjörnsdóttir

    Þóra is a specialist in the Einar Jónsson Sculture Museum, since 2023. Responsible for among other things, the collection and in part museum education. Prior to that Þóra worked for 10 years as a specialist primarily in collection management at the Museum for Design and Applied Art in Iceland. She also took part in developing the educational program for the museum.

    Before a career in museums Þóra worked as a primary school teacher in Reykjavík.

    Education: M.A. degree in museology, from the University of Iceland, a B.Ed. from the Teachers University of Iceland and a B.A. in art history from the University of Aarhus.
