Open Atelier People: AlmaDís Kristinsdóttir
Text by AlmaDís Kristinsdóttir
What do you do?
I am director of the Einar Jónsson Sculpture Museum.
What part of your institution is your favourite – i.e., a painting, a view, the colleagues, or something completely different – and why?
My favorite part of the museum is its atmosphere – it is a curiosity as an art museum yet a house museum, yet we are working rather experimentally with our heritage which is quite refreshing.
Why is Open Atelier important to you and what are you looking forward to?
Open Atelier is an important opportunity because it is experimental, collaborative, and co-creative.
I´m looking forward to strengthening the professional capacities of the museum in this collaboration, making it more relevant in this international dialogue and to the locals as well through innovative audience approaches and participation.
