Open Atelier workshop and session at Art Biennale in Venice / day 01 / ARRIVAL

Be it the first or the twentieth time, arriving in Venice is always thrilling – especially when you are about to embark here on a special experience. This started with the meeting of all students and partners, who were welcomed by the team members at the Open Atelier’s Place, the headquarters of the workshop, located in a unique apartment in the heart of Dorsoduro district.

The first shared hours were particularly important to arrange the assignments and to synchronize the mindset of all the participants.

The day was rounded off with a lecture by Professor Mark Pimlott, who joined the Open Atelier team from Delft University; he offered a special glimpse of his experience at the 12th Biennale Internazionale di Architettura di Venezia, and specifically of his installation, Piazzasalone, providing the participants with food for thought on the notion of staging, on the idea of a living exhibition of architecture, and on the shift from acts to interpretations.
