Open Atelier workshop and session at Art Biennale in Venice / day 04 / ON THE WAY
The fourth day started with the creative ferment that characterizes the moment a project enters in the thick of it, heightened by the confidence that participants had grown around the collaborative work and the experimented processes.
The establishment of such a fruitful environment was the result of the particularly constructive attitude kept by students, tutors and museums’ representatives – a group that got enriched by the arrival of a guest teacher, Sabina Jallow, from Malmö University.
The acceleration of the operative sessions’ pace was also fostered by the scheduling of some complementary activities, included in the workshop’s agenda to allow the participants to have a comprehensive experience of the wealthy and multifarious heritage manifestations of Venice.
In the evening of the fourth day, all participants dressed up and met at Palazzo Barbarigo Minotto, a fascinating historical building filled with magnificent baroque furnishings. Here, the cultural association Dimensione Lirica offered the group the opportunity to experience a unique version of Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia, in the format of a “Chamber Opera” – in which the traditional setting, the theatre, is replaced by a stage that fits in the different halls of the palace, hence breaking down any barrier between the singers, the instrumentalists and the audience, and giving the viewers the thrill of experiencing the Opera from within.
